We have a new opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our Transport division. As a member of the Victorian Road Maintenance Contracts (VRMC) leadership team you will oversee all enabling functions supporting safe, compliant and efficient contract operations and performance. You will be a potential successor to the Contract Manager and will have regular opportunities perform this role in an acting capacity, as part of a structured career development program. Whilst we prefer this role to be based in Clayton, our head office on Collins Street is also available.
About the role
You will lead and develop a small high-performing team and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the contract, developing and implementing strategies to improve client and Service Stream outcomes.
Key responsibilities will also include:
* Establishing and maintaining all financial, IT and data management systems, procedures and processes, including administering all aspects of document control, legal compliance, insurance, taxation and banking.
* Developing and implementing quality, safety and environmental management systems and assurance programs, ensuring hazard and risk identification processes and mitigation measures are implemented.
* Facilitating procurement of materials, equipment and subcontracted services.
* Cost reporting and forecasting, cash flow analysis and claims management.
* Coordinating all KPI performance reporting and quality monitoring and reporting activities.
About you
You lead inclusively and make contract-focused decisions that drive change.
You will also have:
* Experience with commercial, financial and compliance management for long-term maintenance and capital/project works programs.
* Exposure to civil construction and/or road network management practices including access, permit and licensing requirements.
* A track record in creating and establishing high performance cultures including setting, achieving and exceeding performance standards and KPIs.
* A drive for service excellence underpinned by strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
* Sound knowledge of financial and asset management information system interfaces.
* A track record of fostering workforce diversity and engaging local organisations, including social enterprises to deliver services.
* Formal qualifications in relevant technical and/or commercial disciplines are preferred but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent capability and experience.
