**About us**

**About the role**

As an Advanced Case Manager, you will manage a caseload of complex and high-risk offenders on court orders who have completed part of their sentence in custody. Using evidence-based frameworks, you will deliver dynamic practice in the case management of offenders with complex needs and those who have committed serious offences including ensuring effective assessment, planning, intervention and review. Furthermore, you will motivate and influence individuals in the case management process, modelling pro social behaviours and draw on offender strengths based approaches.

Other elements of the role include:

- contributing to a strengthened and integrated through-care approach for offenders transitioning from prison onto court orders, through close partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- encouraging offenders to be take ownership, accountability and responsibility to organise necessary appointments with other services required (such as Centrelink, housing, and medical appointments).
- linking offenders with services, including alcohol and other drugs (AOD), mental health, housing, and mental health
- producing written reports with appropriate analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders and other standard documents in line with procedural guidelines

To be successful in this role you will:

- be a strong communicator, where you can adapt your communication style accordingly
- have a non-judgemental attitude, treating offenders with respect as members of our community
- be comfortable working in a team environment, assisting other team members to work on shared goals
- demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
- ideally have exposure to complex groups such as homelessness, drug and alcohol, and child protection
- have the ability to practice 'self-care', maintain a work/life balance, and reach out to colleagues, mentors, managers or external providers (including EAP) if required
