Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

The FDSV Health Promotion Officer plays a key role in the development, delivery, and evaluation of health promotion initiatives. The position supports the creation of culturally appropriate resources and education sessions focused on healthy relationships, consent, positive parenting, and addressing the drivers of FDSV. It also assists with delivering messages that encourage community-led healing and recovery, ensuring all content reflects cultural needs and values. Importantly, the role includes supporting community events and oncountry healing camps, strengthening engagement with communities in ways that are meaningful and culturally grounded.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
* Work alongside a therapeutic team to deliver culturally tailored and appropriate health promotion education and community engagement that aligns with the program deliverables
* Assist with the planning and implementation of community events in the Big Rivers Region e.g. community festivals, school and community-based activities, On-Country healing camps.
* Development and distribution of health promotion resources, including lesson plans, animations, print materials, videos, and social media content in collaboration with community members and the Cultural and Health Literacy Resource Review (CaHLRR) group.
* Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision, contributing insights from the work to support integrated service delivery.
