Your new role
As a Business Development Representative you will drive market share growth by identifying high-intent opportunities, engaging SMB decision-makers through modern outreach channels, and delivering tailored solutions that solve real business challenges.
Follow up on pre-qualified leads provided by the business, including a mix of warm and cold prospects.
Build rapport with SMB decision-makers and understand their needs to position solutions effectively.
Conduct outbound calls and virtual meetings to progress opportunities through the sales cycle.
Close deals by presenting tailored solutions and handling objections confidently.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and outcomes in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
Collaborate with marketing and account managers to ensure smooth handover and customer onboarding.
Stay informed on product offerings, competitor activity, and industry trends to support consultative selling.
Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets and KPIs.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in acquisition-based B2B sales roles with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
2-4 years of experience in business development sales (telecommunications or tech preferred but not essential).
Strong communication skills, resilience, and passion for engaging SMB decision-makers.
Understanding of SMB buying behaviours in Australia, including budget cycles and procurement processes.
Ability to interpret intent signals and behavioural data to personalise outreach.
Familiarity with virtual selling environments (video calls, asynchronous communication).
Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working with KPIs and targets.
