ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking applications from experienced, highly motivated and suitable individuals, to temporarily fill the role of Team Leader, Corrections Programs (SOGC), within Offender Reintegration.
The Corrections Programs unit delivers a range of offence specific, offence related, psycho educational and wellbeing group work, and counselling programs for persons subject to supervision by ACTCS.
Programs may be delivered to detainees in the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) custodial setting and in the community for offenders serving community-based sentence and/or order.
Through sound knowledge of trauma informed practice and the principles of therapeutic intervention, the successful applicant will provide leadership and support to staff to facilitate a range of programs and services within the AMC and Community, including oversight of the delivery of programs to male and female detainee cohorts.
In addition, through a thorough understanding of offence specific, offence related, psychoeducational and wellbeing group work and counselling programs, you will work collaboratively with other internal and external stakeholders to deliver services promoting rehabilitation and reintegration.
Further to this, you will contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of client programs and services and analyse client needs to review and promote client service to ensure responsiveness in service delivery.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or management experience is desirable.
* Demonstrated experience in working with offenders in the criminal justice setting is desirable but not essential.
* This position may require psychological aptitude testing as part of the assessment process.
* This position requires a National Police Record Check.
* A current driver's licence (Class C) is essential.
* This position requires a pre-employment medical.
* Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
* To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
* If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.
