Overview
Starts as a volunteer, unpaid position during a training period which will move into a casual paid role and eventually a permanent part time position for the right applicant.
We are looking for a motivated and reliable applicant to join our busy eventing stables. This role begins as a volunteer, unpaid position with a short probationary learning and trial period. For the right applicant who proves reliable and gains experience, it will move into a casual paid role with the potential to become a permanent part time position. Ideally this would be 6am-12pm 5-6 days a week.
Whether you’re keen to gain hands on experience as a working student or step into a groom position with riding opportunities, this is a great chance to immerse yourself in a professional eventing environment led by an established FEI level rider.

Duties include
- Mucking out stables and cleaning horse boxes daily
- Feeding, rugging, grooming and general horse care
- Sweeping, tidying and keeping facilities organised
- Tacking up, untacking and washing down horses
- Cleaning and maintaining tack and equipment
- Helping with packing and unpacking for lessons, training and events
- Assisting at competitions and clinics
- Lunging performance horses (confidence on the ground is important)
- Plaiting horses for events (training provided if needed)
- Using initiative and being proactive around the stables
This is a very hands on role, ideal for an applicant who can be trusted to work independently once trained.
Hours
- Variable hours depending on the season and schedule
- Includes early mornings, afternoons and some weekends
- Flexibility for the right applicant
