About the role
The Leader, Claims Management leads a team of professional staff responsible for providing workers compensation financial management and claims administration services to ensure the Department meets its legislative obligations and statutory compliance requirements and minimises disruption to workplace operations and educational continuity.

About you
* Strong leadership and team management skills with proven experience in leading diverse teams and fostering a high-performance culture.
* In-depth knowledge of workers compensation legislation, policy, and financial management practices, including experience in claims administration and managing complex, high-risk claims.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication abilities to build effective partnerships and instruct legal providers on litigated matters.
* Advanced analytical and reporting skills, including preparing high-quality reports, submissions, and providing evidence-based advice to senior management.
* Commitment to professional development and capability building, with the ability to mentor staff and provide exemplary customer service within a dynamic environment.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent experience.
* Current NSW Drivers licence (or equivalent) and willingness to travel.
