About the Role
This heavy vehicle mechanic position involves performing repairs and servicing on truck bodies, hydraulics, and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle life.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform repairs and servicing on truck bodies, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
* Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend vehicle life.
* Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out preventative maintenance.
* Assist the production team with assembly and fabrication work.
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent.
Requirements
* Qualified fitter, mechanic, or relevant trade background.
* Experience with truck bodies, hydraulics, or mechanical repairs (preferred but not essential).
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to safe work practices.
* HR Truck license.
* Forklift license an advantage but not essential.
