About the role
This is a full-time, permanent Senior Bookkeeper position at Australian Bush Harvest, located in Goulburn, NSW. As the Senior Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of the company's accounting and bookkeeping functions.
What you'll be doing
* Oversee and manage the day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll processing and inventory management
* Set up and maintain product SKUs and inventory records
* Prepare and analyse financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
* Assist with the preparation and filing of business activity statements and other tax-related documents
* Implement and maintain efficient accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including invoice processing, purchase orders and supplier payments
* Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, including training and mentoring junior bookkeepers
* Collaborate with the finance and management teams to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations
* Implement wholesale food processing, manufacturing and/or distribution processes and systems
What we're looking for
* At least 5 years of experience in a senior bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably in a small or medium-sized business
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation laws, and bookkeeping best practices
* Proficient in the use of Xero or like accounting software
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights and build processes and systems
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the finance and management teams
* Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
