What you'll be doing
* Work within a team environment to maintain the highest standard of support necessary to facilitate the care and movement of patients within the Perioperative services in a reliable, timely and effective manner.
* To ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in all areas of the Operating Suite, Recovery ward, Middleton and CSSD.
* To assist within the Operating Rooms with patient care and positioning as directed by Registered Nurse, Surgeon or Anaesthetist.

* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, and ability to relate well and communicate respectfully to line management, colleagues and members of the public.
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, supporting others and taking directions from supervisors or other staff as appropriate.
* Demonstrated previous portering and cleaning experience in a hospital setting.
* Ability to perform the physical demands of this position, such as push, or pull mobile waste bins, patient beds and trolleys frequently.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of infection control standards, willing to clean room/areas that have been occupied by patients with possible or confirmed infections.
* Ability to prioritise and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
