About This Opportunity
As the Business Case Manager (locally known as Business Interface Lead), you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering strategic projects across the University. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to develop strategic initiatives, manage the origination of complex projects, and ensure alignment with the program objectives and the University's goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop robust business cases, ensuring they align with UQ's strategic objectives and adhere to financial and governance requirements.
* Conduct feasibility studies and oversee initial project budget preparation.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to identify challenges, support data-driven solutions, and offer guidance on program delivery.
* Coordinate review and approval of business case elements via executive governance forums, including incorporating feedback and providing administrative support to committees.
* Assist with overseeing project scope changes, ensuring they align with approved business cases, the UQ Gated Capex process, and long-term institutional goals.
* Manage risks and benefits, coordinate reporting, and facilitate the timely handover to project delivery.

About You
* Qualifications in business, project management, or a related discipline, with extensive relevant experience in project, program, and portfolio management, preferably within tertiary education or commercial property sectors; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
* Proven experience in developing business cases and stakeholder management strategies for capital works.
* Strong expertise in managing large-scale, complex capital projects and programs.
* Experience working within project teams to achieve objectives, with knowledge of project controls, commercial controls, and design management.
* Excellent communication skills, with success in preparing reports and presentations for senior executives.
* High interpersonal skills to establish collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Exceptional problem-solving skills, adaptive and innovative in developing solutions.
* Effective organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple high-priority projects, meeting deadlines, and maintaining attention to detail.
