The RoleAn opportunity exists within the Resource Recovery and Education unit for a Garbage Side Loader Operator to join the team.
You will provide efficient, protected and effective garbage truck operation and promote a positive customer service-oriented image of the City of Greater Bendigo.
The role includes the emptying of mobile garbage bins and litter bins, daily maintenance and routine servicing of plant and assisting other drivers when required.
About YouTo be successful in this role you will have experience in the safe and competent operation of heavy rigid plant, knowledge of routine maintenance and minor repairs of vehicles, quality control techniques and basic administrative skills.
You will be punctual, flexible, organised, cooperative, enjoy working in a team environment and have the ability to communicate effectively.
Work DetailsWork hours are from 6 am to 1 pm (or to job completion) Monday to Friday.
The role also works all public holidays apart from Good Friday and Christmas Day and is required to work weekends as per the roster (which could be Saturday and/or Sunday from 5 am to 9 am or to job completion).
The salary is annualised to factor in weekend and public holiday work.
The role will start and finish at our Adam Street, Golden Square depot and work across the City of Greater Bendigo local government area.
A current driver's licence with Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsement and satisfactory police records check is required.
