Seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy professional to lead our library collections and information systems. As a key member of our vibrant library team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our physical and digital collections, ensuring they remain relevant, accessible, and engaging for our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement effective strategies for collection development, including stock selection, purchasing, cataloguing and weeding processes for both print and non-print resources.
* Maintain and troubleshoot our Library Management System (LMS), ensuring smooth operation and optimal performance.
* Provide excellent customer service and support to library staff and customers, building digital literacy capacity and modeling exceptional customer interactions.
Requirements:
* Degree qualification in library and information management or equivalent experience in a public library environment.
* Proven understanding and experience in the principles of library collection development, including knowledge of Library Management software and ability to support both library staff and customers in the use of library technologies/equipment.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on providing positive interactions with library services, programs and staff.
