Role Profile: You will lead the tax practice and ensure it operates as a high‐quality, well‐run and trusted part of the broader business. Your remit will include:
* Tax Practice Leadership: Lead the day‐to‐day operation and development of the tax practice, setting standards, priorities and ways of working across delivery.
* Compliance Delivery & Technical Oversight: Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of compliance work across complex family groups and private structures, while maintaining strong review disciplines and technical standards.
* Tax Advisory & Strategy: Support the tax planning and advisory needs of clients, helping shape the firm's broader tax strategy and ensuring tax outcomes align to wider structuring and commercial considerations.
* Specialist Coordination: Build and manage relationships with external tax specialists where needed, ensuring expert advice is brought in effectively and integrated into client outcomes.
* Client Leadership: Act as a senior point of contact on tax matters, building trust through responsiveness, clarity and sound judgement.
* Team Leadership & Capability Building: Mentor and develop the tax team, support recruitment and onboarding, and help create a culture of accountability, quality and continuous improvement.
* Risk, Quality & Practice Management: Maintain strong controls, review processes and workflow oversight across the practice, ensuring high standards of quality and professionalism.
Successful Candidate Profile: This role is likely to appeal to someone currently operating in a senior tax leadership, private client tax or professional practice environment who wants to step into a broader, more influential role. You will bring:
* Strong experience in private tax, with particular exposure to trusts, companies, family groups and complex private structures
* A background leading tax compliance and review processes across sophisticated client groups
* The technical credibility to guide complex matters and support high‐quality advisory outcomes
* Experience leading, mentoring and developing team members in a professional practice or tax environment
* Commercial judgement and the ability to balance technical rigour with practical client outcomes
* Confidence working directly with clients and broader adviser networks in a high‐trust setting
* CA, CPA or CTA qualification, with Tax Agent registration or the ability to meet registration requirements viewed favourably
