The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Food Technologist to join our expanding NPD team. This role will provide briefing and technical inputs to launch NPD projects on time, and within budget. This role will require working closely with a cross‑functional team including Quality, Marketing, Procurement, Sales, Finance and Logistics, focusing on the delivery of ideas from concept to commercialisation, utilising the Stage and Gate process.
The role will primarily involve
* Effectively planning and managing multiple simultaneous projects and troubleshooting technical and processing issues throughout the NPD process
* Managing cross‑functional project teams and timelines to deliver NPD projects, specifically working with Procurement and Marketing to brief suppliers on specific project requirements
* Developing benchtop samples within a development kitchen and being able to convert these to large scale manufacturing
* Launching products in full, on time and within budget and communicating and escalating project progress
* Ensuring all technical aspects of labelling are completed to required standards
The Successful Candidate
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is self‑driven, flexible, efficient and with a strong work ethic. You would be well‑spoken and presentable, with proven leadership skills, lateral thinking capability. To be successful with your application you will have:
* Tertiary qualified in Food Science or a related relevant discipline
* Prior experience in Product Development within the food industry with proven project management experience and a flare for food flavours and combinations
* Demonstrated sound food technology experience working in cross‑functional teams, with demonstrated usage and understanding of Stage and Gate
* Prior experience in managing cross‑functional project teams
* Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, organisational and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise
* Knowledge of food regulations, food legislation and food safety
