The Role
•Architect Ultraprecision mechanical platforms – extreme repeatability ≪100nm, ultra-stiff frames, ultra clean process, air-bearings, flexures, vibration damping, active thermal control ±0.01 °C.
•Run the full mechanical product lifecycle – Drive design, BoMs, vendor selection, procurement, fabrication/assembly, V&V.
•Build metrology & verification infrastructure – Specify and develop metrology processes down to the nanometre scale.
•Integrate across disciplines & programmes – translate stakeholder needs into design choices. Cross functional DFX reviews.
•Safety, cleanliness & compliance – Ensure mechanical system meet WHS and functional-safety requirements; maintain FMEA.
About You
•8+ years designing precision systems for semiconductor, lithography or similar.
•Expert in CAD plus hands-on static, thermal and modal FEA.
•Proven hands on metrology and GD&T expertise.
•Working knowledge of clean-room materials and contamination control.
•Track record of technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Bonus points
•Die-/wafer-bonder, NIL or CMP tool experience
•Ultra-clean environments ≤ISO class 3
•Sub-micron motion control (air-bearing, piezo, granite isolation)
•Thermal/vibration control down to ±0.01 °C and sub-µg resonance
