About the Role
As a member of our team, you will contribute to harm reduction and drug and alcohol treatment services in a collaborative environment that values professionalism and personal integrity.
You will leverage your lived experience of drug use to assist others seeking assistance while working together to develop strategies for the program.
* Assist with the facilitation and growth of Harm Reduction Peer Advisory Groups
* Contribute to the development of programs for individuals who use drugs
* Bring a lived experience perspective of drug use to the design, implementation, and evaluation of strategies for the program
* Provide one-on-one and/or group peer support to people who use drugs and their carers and family members within agreed models of care and scope of practice
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Lived and/or living experience of drug use
* A clear understanding of health and social issues affecting individuals who use drugs
* Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of health promotion and the social determinants affecting the health of individuals who use drugs
* Understanding of peer support principles
* A commitment to operating with high professional standards and personal integrity within a harm reduction framework
* Lived experience of engagement with Drug and Alcohol services
