We are currently partnering with a leading mining and processing business to recruit two contract opportunities within their Financial Planning & Analysis team:
Principal FP&AFP&A Analyst
These roles will support a high-performing finance function in delivering accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business performance insights across a complex operational environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for finance professionals who enjoy working closely with stakeholders, analysing performance drivers, and contributing to better commercial decision-making in an industrial or resources setting.
About The Roles
Working as part of the FP&A team, you will provide analytical and reporting support across budgeting, forecasting, cost control and month-end processes. You will help ensure timely and accurate financial information is available to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Depending on your level, responsibilities may include:
Preparing cost centre spending reports and analysisMonitoring open purchase orders and future cost obligationsTracking GRNI / GRIR and parked invoices to support accurate accruals and reportingMaintaining sales analysis reports and supporting revenue variance analysisAssisting with short-term cash flow forecastingPreparing and maintaining forecast data across production, non-production and overhead cost areasSupporting budget and forecast cycles through consolidation of business unit inputsCoordinating monthly variance reporting and analysis for internal stakeholdersPreparing and uploading month-end non-inventory journalsSupporting system reconciliations related to cost centres and project codesAssisting with audit queries and maintaining FP&A documentation and checklistsPartnering with procurement, accounts payable, operations and finance stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy of data
Requirements
A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related disciplineProgress toward CPA or CA qualifications will be viewed favourablyAt least 3 years' experience in finance, management accounting or FP&A supportExperience within a complex operating environment, ideally mining, resources, manufacturing or project-based industriesStrong Excel capability and basic financial modelling skillsWorking knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAPExposure to planning and reporting tools such as Power BI, Adaptive Planning or similarDemonstrated experience in financial reporting, variance analysis, forecasting and budgeting supportStrong attention to detail, commercial acumen and the ability to work across multiple data sources
