Our Client:

Our client is a highly regarded aviation maintenance organisation operating within a strict regulatory environment and supporting aircraft maintenance activities across multiple approvals. With safety, compliance and continuous improvement at its core, the business is committed to maintaining the highest standards under CASA regulations while fostering a strong safety culture across all levels of the organisation.

The Opportunity:

This is a critical leadership role responsible for the establishment, oversight and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management System (SMS) within a CASA Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation. Reporting directly to the Accountable Manager / CEO, the Quality & Safety Manager provides independent monitoring of compliance and safety performance, ensures ongoing regulatory approval, and acts as the primary interface with CASA on quality and safety matters.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Establishing, maintaining and controlling the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and associated procedures to ensure continued. compliance with CASR Part 145, Part 42, the Part 145 MOS, approved maintenance data and CASA instruments.
* Developing and implementing robust systems for identifying non-compliances, managing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and driving continuous improvement across maintenance operations.
* Designing and managing a comprehensive, risk-based internal audit program, verifying corrective action effectiveness and reporting trends and systemic issues to senior management.
* Establishing, implementing and maintaining a compliant Safety Management System, including hazard identification, safety reporting, risk assessment, investigations and preventive actions.
* Acting as the primary point of contact with CASA, managing surveillance activities, coordinating corrective action plans and monitoring regulatory changes.
* Overseeing occurrence, defect and major defect investigations, ensuring reportable matters are identified and notified in line with regulatory timeframes.
* Managing authorisations, training and competency systems for certifying staff in coordination with engineering leadership.
* Promoting a strong safety and quality culture by providing expert advice, guidance and leadership to management and maintenance personnel.

Your Skills & Experience:

* Demonstrated experience operating in a Quality and Safety leadership role within a CASA Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation or similar regulated aviation environment.
* Strong working knowledge of the Civil Aviation Act, CASR Part 145 and Part 42, Part 145 MOS, Airworthiness Directives and CASA advisory material.
* Extensive experience establishing, maintaining and auditing QMS and SMS frameworks in line with regulatory requirements.
* Proven capability interacting directly with CASA, managing audits, surveillance activities and corrective actions.
* Highly developed analytical, investigation and root cause analysis skills.
