Financial Analyst * Salary: $100,894 - $114,476 (Plus Superannuation) * Ongoing role * Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) * Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available) The Role We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Analyst with strong analytical skills and a sound understanding of financial principles and public sector processes. The ideal candidate can work with financial data to produce clear, accurate analysis and support effective decision-making. Main accountabilities: * Undertakes technical data analysis and modelling and prepares reports * Researches and develops recommendations in a specific field of expertise * Researches and applies advanced theoretical knowledge in a specialised field to operational problem solving * Prepares reports, briefs and correspondence on complex issues that impact at program or organisational level The Team The position of Financial Analyst forms a part of the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery within the Skills and TAFE group. Skills and TAFE (S&T) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations. The Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD) incorporating the TAFE Strategy, Systems and Tertiary Governance branch and the TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch, plays a system leadership and management role for the Victorian TAFE Network (VTN) across Victoria. About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: * Data Literacy: Ability to utilise advanced excel formulas, pivot tables and generation of data charts is required. * Data Literacy: Considers data sources, collection and structure impacts in the delivery of data analysis. Generates descriptive statistics and relevant data visualisation leading to decisions under the guidance from subject matter experts. * Systems Thinking: Assesses situations and identifies the best systems tools for analysing, understanding the system and addressing problems; Can apply system archetypes to identify common dynamics that appear in different situations. * A Bachelor level qualification or higher in a related discipline e.g. commerce, economics, finance would be well regarded.
