About Meercroft
Meercroft was established in 1889 and we are an autonomous, not for profit organization that provides a Constitution of the Home which is run by a Board of Governance. Meercroft is located at the beautiful bluff precinct in Devonport overlooking the Bass Strait. We provide excellence in the provision of quality permanent and respite care services, Meercroft is a 140-bed facility with approximately 240 staff and we are undertaking a significant redevelopment of the facility which will be completed in 2027.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, the Clinical Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality and compliant clinical care in accordance with the Strengthened Aged Care Standards, Quality of Care Principles, the New Aged Care Act 2025 and all other relevant legislation and organizational policies. The role is to support Clinical Governance, risk management, auditing and continuous quality improvement across the organisation.
Essential Criteria:
* Full-time Australian working rights
* AHPRA Registration
* 5+ years of clinical experience (Aged Care experience essential)
* Leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills
* Hold or be working towards a qualification in Leadership & Management
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with the Director of Nursing, Quality Educator and clinical leaders to develop and implement best practice Auditing frameworks, and schedules.
* Ensure compliance with the new Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act, and relevant clinical guideline.
* Monitor and implement changes in legislation and regulatory requirements
* Maintain and review clinical policies, procedures and protocols
* Support preparation for audits, accreditation and regulatory reviews
* Co-ordinate the Quality Advisory Committee and responsible for Chairing the meeting and development of meeting reports for the Board of Governance.
* Working collaboratively with DON and CNC to monitor incidents, complaints, and reportable events (including SIRS)
