Role Overview
You will collaborate closely with Council, the community, the development industry and government agencies to deliver sustainable land use planning outcomes across the region.
This role involves contributing to projects such as finalising the draft Local Environmental Plan, preparing the MidCoast Development Control Plan and Contribution Plans, and assessing site‐specific rezoning proposals.
Additionally, you will provide strategic planning advice to a diverse range of stakeholders, contribute to the development of local planning strategies, and support the negotiation of Planning Agreements.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with Council, community, development industry and government agencies to deliver sustainable land use planning outcomes.
* Contribute to the finalising of the draft Local Environmental Plan, preparing the MidCoast Development Control Plan and Contribution Plans, and assessing site‐specific rezoning proposals.
* Provide strategic planning advice to diverse stakeholders, contribute to local planning strategies, and support the negotiation of Planning Agreements.
* Demonstrate strong collaboration, engagement and communication skills, and the ability to problem‐solve and juggle multiple project timelines within regulatory and strategic frameworks.
What You'll Bring
* Working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and other relevant legislation.
* Tertiary qualifications in town planning or another appropriate discipline.
* Relevant experience in strategic land use planning or urban design.
* Ability to undertake the full range of strategic planning projects with minimal supervision and work well in teams.
* Highly developed communication skills and experience in effective community consultation.

Salary
Salary range $94,560 - $106,724 p.a. plus superannuation.
Location
Based at the Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya, 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to work from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure
Permanent, Full Time.
