Community Transport Services Tasmania Ltd (CTST) is inviting expressions of interest for a skills-based Director appointment, specifically seeking a candidate with formal accounting qualifications and demonstrated experience. As a not-for-profit charitable organisation, CTST provides transport, home maintenance, social support, disability services, and domestic assistance to older Tasmanians and individuals with health or mobility limitations. Operating statewide, we are supported by a dedicated workforce of 500 staff and volunteers, a fleet of over 100 vehicles, and a clear mission: to ensure every Tasmanian can access high-quality, reliable support to live well within their community.

Provide strong financial oversight and risk governance in line with the Aged Care Quality Standards and ACNC obligations;
Contribute meaningfully to board-level discussions, strategic planning, and audit and risk matters;
Demonstrate experience in not-for-profit or regulated sector governance;
Commit to the duties outlined in CTST's Constitution, Board Position Description, and relevant policies;
Act with professionalism, integrity, and a clear alignment to CTST's values.
Prior board or governance experience is preferred but not essential. Applicants must meet compliance requirements including Working with Vulnerable People registration and Director ID obligations.
About the Role
Term: 3-year renewable term, maximum 9 years
Remuneration: Sitting fees apply for board and committee meetings, plus travel reimbursements
Commitment: Six formal meetings per year (typically in-person, bi-monthly), with additional engagement via subcommittees and strategic workshops.
Travel: CTST is a state-wide organisation. While most meetings are held at Head Office, Directors are occasionally required to travel within Tasmania to attend Board meetings held at regional offices and to support events across the state.
