We are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in our medical oncology/haematology day hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for an oncology nurse ready to step into a role with greater clinical responsibility while remaining hands‐on in patient care.
About the Role: Due to an internal promotion we have an opportunity for a permanent Clinical Nurse, up to full‐time hours available, to join our team at the Icon Cancer Centre Townsville. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the Clinical Nurse Level 2 plays a key role in delivering high‐quality, patient‐centred oncology care while supporting clinical standards, team capability, and safe service delivery in a day oncology setting. We are happy to consider applications for part‐time or full‐time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver advanced nursing care within scope, including administration of chemotherapy and haematology treatments
* Perform comprehensive patient assessments and manage treatment‐related side effects
* Act as a clinical resource and role model for less experienced staff
* Participate in quality improvement and clinical governance activities
* Maintain accurate electronic and written clinical documentation
* Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
* Demonstrate high level of clinical leadership, teamwork and development of workplace culture
* Facilitate learning, growth and development opportunities for the nursing team
* Actively motivate others and maintain an environment of continuous quality improvement
* Participate in personal role review and professional development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement of self and team

Skills & Experience:
* Current AHPRA registration
* At least 3 years' experience in oncology nursing
* Demonstrated experience in a high acuity setting
* Post‐graduate study desirable but not essential
* Proven ability to provide clinical leadership and mentorship
* Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Well‐developed electronic and clinical documentation skills
