Job Description
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Buyer to join the Dymocks Books team
Reporting to the Lead Category Manager, this role plays a key part in shaping the book assortment across our company-owned store network.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage back list book buying across the Dymocks company store network
* Collaborate with the book team to strengthen and grow the company store backlist
* Work closely with the Planning and Allocation team to identify additional stock opportunities and proactively address underperforming stock
* Partner with the Lead Category Manager on key category callouts and promotional opportunities
* Build strong relationships with publishers to drive key title performance, margin opportunities, and backlist buying strategies
* Support stores alongside the Planning team to optimise backlist assortment, category opportunities, and stock flow
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Previous experience in a buying role (book retail buying experience preferred)
* A strong understanding of the book industry
* Experience working with retail systems
