This role offers the opportunity to work across a mix of statutory and strategic planning projects, within a collaborative and well‑resourced environment alongside experienced planners, urban designers and project leaders. The position is suited to a planner who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and is looking to further develop their skills across both development approvals and longer‑term planning frameworks. The Role The Urban Planning Consultant will work as part of a large, multidisciplinary planning team delivering projects across metropolitan and regional Western Australia. Responsibilities will include contributing to statutory planning assessments, development applications and approvals, as well as supporting strategic planning, precinct planning and policy‑led projects. The role provides exposure to a broad range of project scales and typologies, with structured support, mentoring and clear pathways for development. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and management of development applications and statutory planning submissions Contribute to strategic planning projects, including structure plans, planning strategies and policy reviews Undertake research, analysis and report writing to support planning outcomes Liaise with local and state government authorities, consultants and internal project teams Support senior planners and project leads across multiple concurrent projects Maintain clear documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders About the Candidate The successful candidate will be a motivated and capable planning professional with a solid understanding of the WA planning system and a strong interest in working across both statutory and strategic planning.
