As a dedicated Local Area Coordinator, you will be the heartbeat of the NDIS in your local community.
About this role
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by assisting participants to link with and navigate the NDIS. You will guide participants in their options to make informed choices while gathering information for the development of their NDIS plans to help further build capacity.
Your responsibilities
* Working alongside people with disabilities, their families, and carers by ensuring linkage and referrals to community and mainstream services.
* Develop strong positive community partnerships that support capacity building to ensure accessible and inclusive communities.
* Meeting with people with disability in their home or community as well as participating in place-based community development, which may require travel within our service regions.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with great people skills, excellent written communication, and strong time management skills. You will have experience in meeting and exceeding KPIs and outcomes. Be adaptable and able to cope with an ever-changing, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
A person-centered approach when working with vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds focused on empowering individuals to exercise choice and control, delivering positive outcomes, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding professional integrity.
Relevant qualifications in disability, allied health, community services, or minimum 2 years' experience working with people living with disability or lived experience with disability or caring for someone with disability.
