High Intensity Personal Care Support Worker
At Right at Home, we provide in-home disability support services that empower individuals to live independently. We are seeking compassionate Disability Support Workers who can make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
The Disability Support Worker plays a vital role in implementing support services that enhance the living, social, and recreational skills of people with disabilities. Community inclusion, independence, decision-making, and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, focusing on individual needs. All service delivery must align with the Policies and Procedures of our organization and the NDIS Framework.
We offer an opportunity for empathetic Disability Support Workers to assist individuals in reaching their full potential. Various shifts are available in our Northern Rivers region, with an average of 8-15 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
* Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Active Overnight Support: Provide overnight support where the worker is required to be awake and available to assist the participant for more than two hours during the overnight period.
* PEG Feeding: Support and assist the client with PEG feeding.
* Manual Handling: Aid clients with mobility challenges through proper manual handling techniques and assisting with exercises.
* Community Engagement: Support clients in participating in social, recreational, and community activities.
* Domestic Duties: Assist with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean-living environment.
* Behavioural Management: Handle clients with high behaviours, employing appropriate strategies to ensure their safety and well-being, including the use of restrictive practices.
* Provide Direct Care Assistance: Assist each client according to their service plan and as directed by the coordinator.
* Ensure Completion of Appropriate Documentation: Record relevant information on support provided in client notes.
* Work with Clients, Family/Carers, and Other Professionals: Support the client's individual goals.
* Services are generally between 6am-6pm Monday to Friday.
Requirements:
* Australian Federal Police Clearance.
* PEG feeding experience.
* Current CPR / First Aid Certificate.
* NDIS Workers Screening Check and workers module module.
* Current Australian Driver's Licence.
* Reliable, registered, and insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance required).
* Smartphone with internet access.
