About the role

The Technical Advisor – Claims, manages a portfolio of complex and medium-risk workers' compensation cases in accordance with the requirements of Workers Compensation legislation.

About you

* Extensive expertise in managing complex and medium-risk workers' compensation cases, including litigation and sensitive matters, with in-depth knowledge of the Workers Compensation Act 1987 and the Workplace Injury Management Act 1998.
* Ability to critically review and respond to legal advice, effectively applying tailored claims management strategies to minimise disruption to educational services.
* Strong skills in strategic collaboration, contributing to the development and implementation of initiatives that meet compliance, service, and performance targets.
* Experience in delivering targeted training, conducting quality reviews, and enhancing the case management capabilities of team members.
* Proficiency in stakeholder engagement, with proven success in building professional relationships that support work recovery processes and improved injury management outcomes.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
* A current NSW Driver's License or equivalent and have a willingness to travel.

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
