**The Opportunity**
Join a dynamic team to support procurement policy, assurance, and business improvement within the Commercial and Contract Management Division.
You'll provide high-level business support to ensure the efficient functioning of the Procurement Policy and Assurance team and broader Commercial and Contract Management Division. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting cross-functional issues impacting procurement and broader departmental functions.
- Assisting in managing policies governing Civil Construction Procurement, ensuring compliance with probity, risk, and governance standards.
- Driving business improvements, managing projects, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
This role requires adaptability, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver meaningful outcomes in a changing environment.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will need to be:
- **Strategic Support & Relationship Building**: Provides high-level support to senior management, fostering strong relationships and communication to drive team effectiveness and achieve key objectives.
- **Collaborative Problem-Solver**: Works across functions to address business challenges, guiding the business planning process and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- **Results-Focused**: Translates strategies into actionable performance targets, providing regular reporting while managing resources and mitigating risks.
- **Reporting & Policy Development**: Develops and maintains procurement policies, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering clear, concise reports and recommendations.
- **Project Coordinator**: Manages Directorate-specific projects, maintains accurate records, and contributes to the development of governance frameworks and process improvements.
**Qualification/ Experience**
A Tertiary Qualification in a relevant discipline or having equivalent professional experience will be highly regarded.
**Special Conditions**
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
**Tenure of Vacancy**
Temporary appointment - up to 12 months with the possibility of becoming permanent.
**Remuneration**
ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413 pa + superannuation.
