Dardanup Butchering company (DBC) employees 270 Western Australians and has been in operation for over 70 years, supplying WA with the very best food from WA's best farmers. Westpork is Western Australia's largest pork producer with over 190 employees and 17 sites throughout WA.

The Role
The Payroll Manager has responsibility for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll across the organisation. You will manage the full payroll cycle, maintain employee records, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies. In addition to managing the payroll function, you'll also support the Finance team with daily accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure end to end accurate processing of weekly pays for DBC staff and subsequently fortnightly processing for Westpork staff as per applicable Award and/or contracts
· Pay calculations involve base pay, allowances, deductions, Superannuation, tax, new hires, terminations and employee movements
· Resolve/answer queries related to pay across both organisations in a timely manner
· Assisting with the implementation of electronic timekeeping system (Bundy) across both organisations and afterwards preparing payroll data from Bundy for payroll processing
* Assisting with the daily accounting operations such as costing reports, month end reporting, and account reconciliations
· Assist with end of financial year reporting
* Ensure statutory compliance and assisting with audits
Role Requirements
* Degree in finance, accounting or related field
· Minimum 3-5 years' end to end Payroll experience, ideally using Sage Micropay
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
· Time management and prioritisation skills to meet conflicting payroll deadlines ie: month-end, super and payroll cut off dates
* A solid understanding of Australian superannuation, statutory payment obligations and tax compliance.
* A high degree of analytical capability and attention to detail.
* Self-starter with a pragmatic, 'can do' attitude to problem-solving.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
* Resilient, enthusiastic, ability to work autonomously, take initiative and reliably deliver on tight deadlines.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Perth. On occasion, you will be required to commute between our Bibra Lake, Maylands and Bunbury sites (company vehicle will be provided).
