The Opportunity
We have two opportunities for diligent individuals to operate and run Council's roadside weed spraying program to apply herbicides in the treatment of weed species along the Bega Valley's road network and reserves.
Responsibilities
As a Weed Spray Operator, you will maintain Council's roadways and public lands for priority weed species as well as operate plant and equipment used for weed control.
You will maintain comprehensive, organised and up to date records and mapping to ensure the identification of biosecurity matter extent density and control.

Current NSW Class C and LR or higher Drivers Licence

Provide first aid (Unit of Competency) RIIWHS206
Control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs
AHCCHM3037 Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pest, Weeds and Diseases (Unit of Competency)
AHCCHM304 Transport, Handle and Store Chemicals (Unit of Competency)
Experience and Skills
Two (2) years relevant experience in delivery of on ground high volume weed control.
Excellent attention to detail and able to prioritise works and ability to work independently and within a team.
Demonstrated experience in weed control techniques through manual and chemical applications including spraying herbicide using vehicle-mounted pressurised applicators, backpack units and cut and paint.
A sound knowledge of Bega Valley Council's Road system.
Benefits
Fixed term full time positions working 38 hours per week for a period of 14 months.
Total remuneration package for this position commences at $74,730.42 gross per annum, comprising:
$1,288.90 per week base salary
$148.22 per week superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)
Rostered day off scheme (nine day fortnight); Annual Award salary increases and performance reviews; Salary packaging program (SmartSalary).
