About the Role
Lead and shape high-quality sterilisation services across our region in this pivotal leadership role. As the Regional Central Sterilisation Department Manager, you will drive best practice in the care, handling, transport, storage, and reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices (RMDs), ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
You will oversee and coordinate sterilisation services across Hub and Spoke sites, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and excellence in service delivery. This includes managing inventory control, electronic tracking systems, and logistics to support the safe and timely movement of sterile and used RMDs—meeting both operational needs and customer expectations.
About You
You are an experienced and motivated leader with a strong background in sterilising services and a passion for continuous improvement. You bring a collaborative approach, strong operational oversight, and the ability to lead teams across multiple sites.
Essential Requirements
* Extensive experience as an Instrument Technician with up-to-date knowledge of sterilising services
* Sound understanding of AS/NZS 4187 (or superseding standards)
* Relevant recognised sterilisation qualifications
* Proven leadership skills including workforce planning, rostering, mentoring, and staff development
* Strong commitment to quality improvement and service excellence
* Experience with electronic tracking systems
* Solid understanding of logistics and the movement of RMDs across regional sites
* Willingness to travel across Hub and Spoke locations as required
Desirable
* Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training
* Membership with a relevant professional body
* Experience in logistics and transportation legislation
* Knowledge of fleet management requirements
* Experience managing outsourced sterilisation services
