Key Responsibilities
Operate in varying conditions and diverse locations
Undertake operational patrols, respond to situations to enforce laws and/or maintain public order, and investigate offences
Provide service and support to the community
About the Role
As a police officer with the Queensland Police Service, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order and protecting the community from harm.
You will work in a team environment, responding to emergency situations and conducting investigations to identify those responsible for crimes.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in specialist units, such as traffic policing or forensic analysis, and develop your skills in areas like crisis management and crowd control.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Australian citizen or permanent resident
17 years or older to apply and 18 years or older by the time of commencing training
Year 12 (or equivalent), or iPROWD program (or equivalent), or minimum 3 years full-time (or equivalent) work
Open driver license or provisional driver license with minimum of 12 months experience by time of recruit training graduation
High standard of past behavior and conduct
Physically and mentally fit for policing duties
Benefits
Competitive salary: The starting salary of a First Year Constable is $87,509* per annum, which comprises $72,322* + 21% Operational Shift Allowance (OSA).
Plus, receive a generous 18% superannuation.
Work/life balance: A 38-hour working week means 9 days off in every 28-day roster.
Allowances and leave: 6 weeks recreation leave per year; 13 weeks long service leave after 10 years of service; additional travel allowances and financial incentives for officers working in remote areas.
