About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Director, Personalisation & Marketing Technology to lead a bold, multi-year strategy that will redefine how we engage with our customers. This is a pivotal leadership role driving innovation, advanced data analytics, and technology to deliver hyper-personalised experiences that increase loyalty, retention, and revenue.

As the Senior Director of Personalisation & Martech, you’ll lead the transformation of how Optus connects with its customers—building smarter, data-led experiences that are timely, relevant, and meaningful. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role, responsible for designing and delivering a multi-year roadmap that embeds personalisation capabilities across teams, platforms, and customer touchpoints.


What you'll be doing

* Strategic Program Leadership - Define and lead the personalisation transformation strategy, collaborating with senior stakeholders across marketing, tech, and operations to ensure seamless execution and alignment with business goals.

* Customer-Centric Personalisation - Drive a data-led approach to customer engagement using AI/ML and behavioural insights to create tailored journeys across digital and assisted channels—improving satisfaction and reducing churn.

* Technology, Data & Martech Enablement - Oversee the development and optimisation of Martech platforms and personalisation tools, ensuring they integrate effectively into existing systems and elevate the customer experience.

* Cross-Functional Influence & Change Leadership - Act as the link between technical and commercial teams. Champion a culture of innovation and customer-first thinking, while leading change and capability uplift across the organisation.

* Performance, Analytics & Optimisation - Establish clear KPIs to measure success and enable continuous improvement. Use customer insights, A/B testing, and performance data to refine strategies and maximise commercial outcomes.

* People & Budget Management - Lead a high-performing team and manage a significant transformation budget, ensuring cost efficiency while unlocking revenue growth through enhanced engagement and retention.

About You

You’re a strategic thinker and delivery-focused leader, passionate about using data and technology to improve customer experiences. You’ve led major transformation programs in industries with large, multi-channel customer bases—such as telco, financial services, utilities, or retail—and know how to bring together people, platforms, and insights to create lasting change.


You’ll bring

* A bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field—or equivalent experience in delivering enterprise-scale transformation.

* Extensive experience in senior leadership roles and budget management.

* A proven track record delivering large-scale programs focused on personalisation, customer experience, Martech, or data-driven strategy.

* Strong commercial acumen and deep understanding of how customer engagement drives business outcomes.

* Advanced skills in data analytics, AI/ML, personalisation platforms, and marketing technology ecosystems.

* Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.

* A pragmatic leadership style with the ability to inspire change, coach others, and create momentum for new ideas.
