The OpportunityThe Shipping Documentation Officer plays a critical role in supporting commodity export sales through the preparation, negotiation, and management of Letters of Credit (LC), sales documentation, and shipping processes.
The role ensures compliance, accuracy, and the timely flow of information between buyers, banks, and internal departmentsThis role will report directly to our Manager Sales Operations and you will be part of a broader Sales and Marketing team under our International trade and StrategyIron Ore team.Key Responsibilities:Prepare Letters of Credit (LC) drafts in line with contractual terms and incotermsNegotiate and manage LC drafts with LC applicants, ensuring terms are metCompile and present a full set of export documents, negotiating under LC to ensure documents are clean and fully compliantTimely presentation of documentation to LC negotiation banksMaintain daily job registers, monitor and track receivables, and manage payment schedulesKeep buyers informed of vessel nomination, movement, and loading statusLiaise with buyers on all LC, documentation, sales operations, and cargo discharge mattersEnsure all sales and shipment data is accurately recorded, updated, and reportedPrepare monthly cash flow and sales reports for managementRegularly liaise with banks and buyers to resolve documentation issues related to export salesCarry out general shipping documentation and support all operational sales tasks as requiredWhat is RequiredRelevant degree qualification is highly regardedExperience in similar role preferably within mining industry, commodity export sales is desirableStrong understanding of international trade and incoterms, such as bill of loading.Vessel operations knowledgeFluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese (essential) to qualify in this role.
Qualification or certification in interpreting between the languages is highly desirable.High degree of capability with Microsoft softwareStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency and Microsoft Office suite tools.About Mineral ResourcesMinRes is a leading diversified resources company with extensive operations in lithium, iron ore, energy and mining services across Western Australia.
