What You'll Be Doing
We're looking for a Product Application Engineer – Protection Systems to join our team in either Brisbane or Melbourne to become the go-to tech whisperer for our protection relay portfolio across Australia. This is a specialist role for someone who brings deep technical expertise in protection relays and systems, a passion for solving complex challenges, and the confidence to support customers, partners, and internal teams at every stage of the journey.
* Serve as the technical authority on Schneider Electric's protection relay portfolio across Australia
* Partner with sales, presales, and channel teams to deliver best-in-class solutions to our customers
* Provide technical support, design consultation, and compliance guidance for pre-sales and tender opportunities
* Lead technical training sessions, workshops, and product demonstrations for both internal teams and external stakeholders
* Interpret single-line diagrams, coordinate protection studies, and develop optimized relay settings
* Support solution proposals with accurate, well-documented technical material
* Stay current with local and international standards (IEC, ANSI, AS) and contribute to our market strategy
* Provide feedback to product development teams to ensure our solutions meet local market needs
What We're Looking For
* A degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience in protection systems, ideally in the Australian market
* Strong knowledge of IEC, ANSI, and Australian protection standards
* Practical experience with Schneider Electric protection relays (or equivalent platforms)
* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system design layouts
* Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
* Ability to align technical solutions with customer needs, support value-based selling and contribute to commercial success
* Willingness to travel across Australia for client and site support
