Maintenance Technician (Dayshift) - New Intercity Fleet Project
Hyundai Rotem Company (HRC) was founded in 1977 and since that time, has been leading the industry globally by delivering critical national infrastructure in over 50 countries. A leader in the Korean rail industry, HRC has succeded in developing high-speed trains and is now establishing their presence in the Australian market.
The New Intercity Fleet (NIF) Project - a joint venture between HRC, UGL and MEA, this project is delivering a fleet of new intercity trains for operation in the NSW electrified rail network. The fleet comprises of 55 Long Units and 70 Short Units for the Newcastle, Blue Mountains, South Coast and Central Coast Lines.
Combined local and international design teams and suppliers will work together to ensure the delivery of manufacturing requirements and associated documentation to ensure that train sets locally manufactured in Australia meet the design, compliance, manufactuability, reliability, maintainability and safety specifications for the trains operational life for a minimum of at least 35 years.
Job Purpose:
- Responsible for carrying out corrective maintenance and highly skilled repair work.
- Download, analyse and interpret Train Management System (TMS) data logs for fault identification and rectification.
- Carryout rollingstock fault finding tasks of rollingstock and associated sub-systems.
- Implement Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and carryout fleet inspections and associated reworks.
- Ensure trains meet Minimum Operating Standards (MOS) to enable running on the network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that maintenance and corrective work is performed in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
- Work within the team to support routine and complex maintenance issues, including fault finding activities as outlined in the daily work plan.
- Complete documentation, including electronic recording systems to the required standard.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of the wider maintenance team.
- Follow all operating procedures designed to manage risks in the rollingstock maintenance environment.
- Follow all procedures in regards to routine and corrective maintenance programs on rollingstock.
- Troubleshooting, fault finding and systems testing of rollingstock.
- Testing and commissioning of rollingstock.
Experience & Qualifications Required:
- Minimum Certificate III in a Mechanical or Engineering trade (AQF level).
- Minimum two (2) years' post apprenticeship experience.
- Working knowledge of Work, Health & Safety legislation
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Demonstrable technical competence, including logical and practical analysis of complex issues.
- Demonstrable ability to work independently.
