FIFO Operations Supervisor - Scaffolding

At Altrad, your growth fuels our success. We are a trusted provider of specialist construction, maintenance, and integrated industrial solutions across Australia, partnering with major clients in energy, resources, utilities, and defence. We go beyond building and maintaining assets, we create Impact that Matters. Every day, our people contribute to safer workplaces, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future. As part of the global Altrad Group, with over 65,000 people across 50+ countries, you'll join a network that's connected by purpose, driven by innovation, and united by our shared values of Solidarity, Respect, Humility, Conviviality, and Courage.

About the Opportunity

Altrad has multiple opportunities for experienced Scaffold Supervisors to join key projects across our Oil & Gas, SMP construction and shut portfolios, with roles available locally, and on FIFO rosters from Perth. You will lead scaffolding crews in complex, live‐plant environments — ensuring every structure is erected safely, compliantly, and to specification, while building the capability of the people around you.

This is your chance to be part of a global organisation that genuinely invests in its people — through training, quality tools, and real career progression. You'll work alongside high‐performing teams on projects that power industry and support Australian communities for the long term.

* Drive a strong safety culture on site — leading by example on compliance with Altrad Golden Rules, client life‐saving rules, permits to work, and site‐specific HSEQ requirements.
* Plan, supervise, and sign off on scaffolding erection, modification, and dismantling to ensure every structure meets design, inspection, and client standards.
* Lead, coach, and mentor your crew — supporting team capability, workforce diversity, and performance development across trainees and experienced scaffolders alike.
* Monitor work progress and quality, identifying efficiencies and contributing to cost‐effective delivery while keeping clients informed and satisfied throughout.
* Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and job safety instructions to a high standard ahead of every work scope.

About You

You're a hands‐on, safety‐focused Scaffold Supervisor who takes pride in doing the job right — every lift, every time. You understand that strong safety culture starts with leadership on the tools, and you hold yourself and your crew to the highest standard — not because you have to, but because that's how you operate.

Across our available roles, candidates will typically bring:

* A current Advanced Scaffolding licence, essential across all roles.
* A genuine commitment to safety culture — leading by example, intervening early, and creating an environment where every team member feels empowered to speak up.
* Sound working knowledge of scaffolding standards, codes of practice, and legislative requirements applicable to construction and industrial environments.
* Experience ranging from 2+ years (leading hand level) to 5+ years (senior supervisor level) in construction, oil and gas, shutdown, or maintenance project environments.
* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, scaffold designs, and lift plans.
* Experience completing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and permits to work.
* Confidence delivering pre‐start briefings, toolbox talks, and on‐the‐job coaching to diverse crew groups.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills — with the ability to build effective working relationships with crew, clients, and project teams at all levels.
