Working in a town centre in the south of the ACT, this large Government Department brings together socially focussed individuals keen to make a difference to Australian society. With an increased work load following the budget this section needs multiple APS6 Grant Design Leads to support the wider team and department to ensure departmental needs are met.
**Your new role**
This group works collaboratively with government and non-government organisations to enhance the well-being of individuals and families in Australian communities. As a trusted administrator of community-based grants, this key working group manages a significant portfolio of grants on behalf of the department and several other government departments. With a substantial presence across Australia, including capital cities, this group employs approximately 1,000 staff members. You will be working in a large team, and you will be responsibile for:
- Collaborative Grant Design: Co-design grant opportunities with client agencies to align with government objectives and relevant policy and legislative frameworks.
- Documentation Management: Liaise with Hub enabling areas to ensure that documentation meets Hub requirements and complies with policy and legislative frameworks.
- Progress Tracking: Provide updates on grant opportunities throughout the Grants Lifecycle, using Shibumi Tracker, to strengthen the design of future grant rounds.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with the Department of Finance and other key stakeholders to review grant opportunity guidelines, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in grant design and administration within a confidential environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant policy and legislative frameworks, including the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs), Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA), Financial Framework Supplementary Powers (FFSP), and program-specific legislation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external agencies.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail, with a focus on continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple milestones and deliverables in line with established plans and deadlines.
