Solicitor/Senior Solicitor in Environmental Law
Our organization works across various areas of environmental law. We are seeking an accomplished lawyer to join our team in Canberra.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to work on diverse aspects of environmental law and provides a high level of autonomy.
* Collaborate with a dedicated team that prioritizes systemic change;
* Contribute to the delivery of environmental legal services in the ACT region;
* Mentor junior lawyers and facilitate their growth and development.
Key Requirements:
* Core qualifications: Valid practicing certificate in the ACT or entitlement to one; minimum 2 years PAE desired for Solicitor position; unrestricted practicing certificate in the ACT with a minimum of 5 years desired for Senior Solicitor position;
* Demonstrated experience in administrative and/or environmental law highly desirable;
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions based on consideration of different views;
* Capacity to work productively and efficiently;
* Excellent oral and written communication skills suited to a range of audiences.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated litigation experience in environmental law and/or related disciplines.
For Senior Solicitor level: Demonstrated ability to mentor and contribute to the performance of junior legal staff.
Capacity to undertake law reform or policy experience desirable. Capacity to deliver community legal education desirable.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities and individuals highly desirable.
