The opportunity
As Senior Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for driving and embedding Regulatory Compliance and Frameworks, ensuring adherence to Bupa’s legal, regulatory, and ethical responsibilities. In this newly created role, you will serve as a conduit between Risk & Compliance and the business Chief Risk Officers to establish systems, processes, and analytics supporting the implementation of Risk and Compliance Frameworks.
Reporting to the General Manager - Compliance Management and Monitoring, this role manages regulatory change and overall compliance across the APAC region. It also provides oversight in monitoring and assurance activities to maintain robust compliance with all relevant regulatory obligations, internal policies, and risk management frameworks.
This position is offered as permanent, full-time, and may be based at our Melbourne or Sydney offices with flexible hybrid work arrangements.
How will I help?
1. Collaborate with the broader Line 2 risk team to develop, maintain, and monitor compliance with policies, standards, and processes.
2. Maintain and improve compliance frameworks, standards, and processes, including overseeing A&NZ compliance to these requirements.
3. Document and implement regulatory change processes and advise on regulatory changes.
4. Maintain obligations in the GRC tool and oversee business unit compliance management.
5. Document compliance incident processes and report incidents/breaches across A&NZ.
6. Conduct compliance assurance reviews and report findings.
7. Provide reporting and insights on compliance review outcomes.
8. Design and deliver training and communication to promote compliance awareness and culture.
9. Lead and nurture your team to grow and succeed.
What do I need?
We seek a senior compliance professional with at least 7 years of experience in a regulated environment such as insurance or healthcare in Australia and New Zealand. Your collaborative approach will help you build positive relationships with stakeholders and facilitate successful outcomes.
Additionally, you will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Risk & Compliance Management, Law, or Business.
* Experience in developing compliance frameworks within large international organizations.
* Strong knowledge of controls to manage compliance obligations.
* A proven track record of implementing pragmatic regulatory responses.
* Experience presenting to senior management to explain compliance frameworks.
* Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
