Senior Approvals Advisor
We are seeking an experienced approvals professional to play a pivotal role in managing approvals processes, cultural heritage, and regulatory compliance for a well-established Australian mining company.
Job Description
Reporting to the Approvals & Community Superintendent, you will coordinate and critically review consultant reports supporting approval applications, manage applications for Environmental Authorities, Progressive Rehabilitation and Closure Plans (PRCP), and Environmental Rehabilitation and Closure (ERC), oversee cultural heritage obligations, including Traditional Owner engagement, surveys, and compliance with Native Title and RAP commitments, and manage non-Indigenous heritage obligations including agreements, monitoring, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and critically review consultant reports supporting approval applications.
* Manage applications for Environmental Authorities, PRCP, and ERC.
* Oversee cultural heritage obligations, including Traditional Owner engagement, surveys, and compliance with Native Title and RAP commitments.
* Manage non-Indigenous heritage obligations including agreements, monitoring, and reporting.
* Liaise with regulators and contribute to high-level submissions and responses.
* Support environmental compliance, disturbance permitting, and sustainability reporting.
Requirements
* Strong background in mining approvals and heritage management.
* Skilled in critically reviewing technical and consultant reports.
* Organised and methodical, with the ability to structure and prioritise workloads effectively.
* Confident in engaging with regulators, Traditional Owners, and internal teams.
* Able to balance task-focus with collaborative, team-oriented culture.
