The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a methodical individual who contributes to the effective operation of Council’s governance function by leading the review and maintenance of policies and procedures, managing delegation and statutory registers, and coordinating annual governance and compliance reporting. The position also supports privacy complaint investigations and breach notifications, handles information access requests, and provides governance advice and administrative support for corporate reporting and complaint resolution.

As a Governance Officer, you will maintain and update Council’s delegations register and legislative compliance including tracking changes and notifying responsible officers and support the preparation. You will support the Corporate Services Section to administer the ‘Code of Conduct’, including acknowledging, investigating, and responding to complaints and grievances.

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds a Certificate IV in Business Administration or related field and has experience, understanding and the ability to interpret legislation.

You will have the following skills and experience;

Coordinate GIPA/PPIPA applications, processes, and procedures across the organisation.Draft notices of decision in response to requests for information received by Council.Provide advice and support to staff in how to respond to requests for information under the GIPA Act and PPIP Act.High level of competence in the use of Microsoft applications and administration of an Electronic Document and Record Management System (i.e. HPE Content Manager or TRIM).

Benefits

This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $95,484.48 gross per annum, comprising of:

$1,639.50 per week base salary$196.74 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
