Conservation Specialist
The role of the Conservation Specialist is pivotal in safeguarding Australia's unique biodiversity and ecosystems. The position involves undertaking land management tasks such as fencing, herbicide spraying, pest animal management using firearms, tree planting, seed collecting, direct seeding, tractor work, and machinery repairs as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain Cassinia Environmental's core values and strategic vision.
* Identify vehicle, asset, and equipment maintenance needs and schedules.
* Report occupational health and safety risks and incidents and adhere to policies at all times.
* Provide accurate information on land management and revegetation works to supervisors.
* Travel to properties across Victoria, New South Wales, and South Australia and stay overnight when necessary.
* Share knowledge with less experienced staff, volunteers, and interns.
The ideal candidate possesses a degree or certificate in environmental science, natural resource management, or related fields. However, demonstrated experience is strongly favored over education level. A minimum of 2-3 years' work experience in land management or conservation is required.
