Hume Riverina Community Legal Service (HRCLS), a program of Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC), is seeking a passionate and values-driven Lawyer to join our Civil Law Practice, delivering legal assistance services aligned with the Bagaraybang Bagaraybang Mayinygalang (BBM), an integrated program working in partnership with the Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improved access to justice for priority clients in regional, rural and cross-border communities. About the RoleAs a Lawyer within our Civil Law Practice, you will: Deliver high-quality legal information, advice and ongoing casework to priority clients Provide duty lawyer services and court representation where required Work collaboratively with Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS), community partners and sector stakeholders Deliver community legal education and secondary consultations Contribute to law reform and systemic advocacy initiatives Participate in reflective supervision and ongoing professional development Work within a trauma-informed, culturally safe and collaborative service model grounded in UMFC's values and Sanctuary commitments. You will bring: Eligibility for a practising certificate in Victoria Experience (or strong interest) in civil law matters such as tenancy, fines, consumer, credit and debt, or insurance Demonstrated ability to work with clients experiencing trauma, family violence and complex needs Strong communication skills, including the ability to deliver community legal education The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team Experience providing representation in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria and/or the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia will be highly regarded.
