Our client, a leading company specialising in the delivery of infrastructure projects, is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Spray Seal Foreman to join their team in Darwin and lead their spray seal crews in delivering high-quality surfacing projects across the Northern Territory.
Your new role
As a Spray Seal Foreman, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing surfacing projects. This is a hands-on leadership role which is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced Civil construction environment, takes pride in their work, and understands the importance of safety, teamwork, and delivering to clients. This is a full-time Temporary role with the potential to lead to a Permanent position, based in Darwin.
Your key responsibilities will be:
* Lead and supervise spray seal crews on a range of road construction and maintenance projects.
* Plan daily activities, allocate resources, and ensure work is completed efficiently and to specifications.
* Operate and oversee spray seal equipment operation and maintenance, including sprayers, trucks, and rollers.
* Ensure daily pre-starts are being carried out on all plant, identify and report on job hazards, and conduct site inspections.
* Liaise and build productive relationships with Project Managers, Site Managers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Clients.
* Maintain accurate records of daily works, materials, and plant.
* Promote a positive team culture and safe working environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Previous experience in a Foreman or Supervisor role working in the surfacing industry in Australia.
* Demonstrated experience in spray sealing or bituminous surfacing operations.
* Strong understanding of sprayed bituminous products and aggregate spread rates.
* Ability to operate bitumen sprayers.
* Hold a valid HC Licence.
* Hold a valid Loader Ticket.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
* Be willing to work in remote locations of the Northern Territory.
