This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing
Complete the comprehensive internal audit function by performing assigned reviews of systems and processes to ensure the District maintains compliance with state and federal legislation and standards.
* Perform system and process reviews under the Internal Audit program of planned audits, operational audits, clinical audits and special investigations as assigned
* Prepare and manage annual and cyclical operational audit plans
* Undertake research into new audit methodologies and techniques
* Provide a contact point for Public Interest Disclosures and allegations of fraud, waste and mismanagement
* Maintain a record or internal audit recommendations resulting from reports and ensure actions are being taken by auditees within agreed timeframes
* Undertake investigative interviews and assessments of alleged problems to ascertain the appropriate course of action

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
* Current membership of the Australian Society of CPAs, the Institute of Chartered Accountants or the Institute of Internal Auditors.
* Extensive successful experience in auditing financial and non-financial systems and processes, preferably within a government or healthcare setting.
* Effective communication skills and the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain working relationships with a range of internal and external clients and stakeholders.
* Experience in applying contemporary audit methodologies/techniques, and proven ability to conduct special audit projects/investigations using knowledge and experience in computer systems that encompass the range and diversity of functions subject to audit in the District.
* Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policy and procedures and NSW Ministry of Health Directives and make sound and balanced judgements on complex issues.
* Knowledge of current government policy and regulations relevant to Health with demonstrated ability to maintain understanding of contemporary government policies and regulations, accounting and audit standards, government legislation and communication technology.
