About the role
Mater Engineering and Maintenance currently has a wonderful opportunity for a Plumber to join the team in a permanent full-time basis working a 9-day fortnight.
In this role you will carry out repairs and maintenance tasks to Mater Health Services facilities as directed in order to maintain the Mater facilities in a safe and well-presented condition.
Salary range: $ 40.07 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900. Plus additional work allowances.
What you’ll be doing
Key duties will include:
1. Ensure effective communication with Trade Group Manager and Trade co-ordinator on a regular basis throughout the day on issues regarding daily work plan and work activities.
2. Ensure all work is carried out in a manner providing the safety of patients, visitors and staff whilst ensuring all access and services are maintained where practical.
3. Provide quality technical skills and knowledge to ensure all work is completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
4. Participate in the training and development of apprentices by providing technical guidance and supervision.
5. Interact and coordinate effectively with workshop team members and other trade disciplines to ensure positive job outcomes on multi trade tasks.
6. Record accurate data on provided iPads including job sheets and timesheets and sign as required
7. Provide 24hour maintenance service by participating in on-call roster will be required
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
8. Certificate III in Plumbing and Drainage or higher
9. An understanding of Occupational, Health, Safety and Welfare Legislation and Regulations pertaining to Plumbing.
10. Demonstrated experience in building hydraulics maintenance
11. TMV endorsement and RPZ licence
12. Current “C” Class Driver’s licence
13. Well-developed time management and organisation skills
14. Sound verbal and written communication skills
15. Demonstrated experience in a team environment
16. Ability to work unsupervised and autonomously
