Job Title: Aquaculture Professional
Aquaculture professionals are responsible for the overall operation of a fish farm. They oversee the health and well-being of fish, as well as the maintenance of equipment and facilities.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of aquaculture practices and principles, including water quality management, feed formulation, and fish health monitoring.
Responsibilities:
* Net Inspections: Regular examination of fishing nets to ensure they are in good condition and identification and repair of any damages or weaknesses in the nets.
* Underwater Repairs: Conducting repairs on equipment or structures located beneath the water surface, including fixing issues with the fish nets or other submerged infrastructure.
* Mooring Checks: Inspection and maintenance of the mooring systems used to anchor the fish farm structures, ensuring they are secure and capable of withstanding environmental conditions.
* General Farm Duties: Performing various tasks essential to the overall operation of the fish farm, including feeding fish, maintaining equipment, cleaning, record-keeping, and other routine tasks.
Requirements:
* A minimum Certificate III in Aquaculture Dive or an ADAS Aquaculture SSBA to 30 metres Commercial dive qualification.
* Commitment to working in a marine farming environment.
* Strong communication skills.
* Coxswains Grade 2 ticket (desirable).
* Rights to work full time in Australia - must be able to work 80 hours per fortnight.
